Connecticut Voices for Children Set to Release New Housing Report,

Host Press Call to Discuss Findings

New Haven, CT [January 17, 2024] - Connecticut Voices for Children today released a new report, “Fostering Stable Homes: Tackling Housing Displacement for a Stronger Connecticut,” which examines Connecticut’s housing affordability crisis and the impact of that crisis on residential stability, family economic security and wealth, as well as the broader economic impact of housing unaffordability.

This research follows the 2023 release of a two-part series from CT Voices examining short-, medium-, and long-term policy options to mitigate Connecticut’s eviction crisis.

This new report expands that research to include foreclosures and specifically looks at how our state’s restrictive land-use and zoning leads to the increased displacement of renters and homeowners as well as provides policy recommendations that would mitigate displacement.

WHAT:

Press call to discuss the findings and recommendations in new housing report.
