New Haven, CT [June 06, 2023] – ConnCORP (Connecticut Community Outreach Revitalization Program) yesterday unveiled a newly rebuilt home in the heart of the Newhallville neighborhood. This milestone is part of ConnCORP’s ongoing mission to revitalize and uplift New Haven’s Dixwell and Newhallville communities.

The property on West Hazel Street was a once dilapidated and abandoned single-family home. ConnCORP, working in collaboration with Milestone Construction Services, transformed the building into a modern home over the past several months. The renovation project, which cost approximately $688,000, is now a two-family unit including a two-bedroom and a three-bedroom apartment.

Mayor of New Haven, Justin Elicker noted that this project is a sign of hope and progress for the community and called for the ongoing initiative of ConnCORP to improve the New Haven community.

The first tenant selected to live in the newly rebuilt home is a ConnCORP employee from Naugatuck who will now have the opportunity to return to her hometown. This decision underscores ConnCORP’s dual commitment to improving the community while supporting its dedicated team members who are integral to these efforts.

"We are proud to have initiated this project and the positive impact it will have on the Newhallville community," stated President and Founder of ConnCat and ConnCORP Erik Clemons. "This home is more than just a building; it represents the hopes, and dreams of people who believe in the power of community."

"We want to thank all the team members who came together to bring this project to fruition. This is just the first in our revitalization of the neighborhood," noted VP of Real Estate and Development at ConnCORP, Ian Williams.

The home is located near the ConnCAT Place on Dixwell project (CPOD), another program by ConnCORP that will see the development of a Plaza meant to serve the Dixwell and Newhalleville communities.
